A brief animation created for our social channels during the 2023 holiday season. The animation concludes with our unofficial studio mascot (a pig) poking his festive snout into a wreath. This illustration and type lockup was also used on our printed holiday cards.
Storyboard
These rough storyboards illustrate my idea for a sort of four vignette structure. We open with a snow man constructing himself and then very quickly meeting his untimely demise by rouge sledder. The rambunctious youngin’ continues sledding downhill and passes a festive holiday lodge. We zoom into the decor on the exterior and type animates in as a pig’s head pokes out of the wreath.
References & Inspiration
The look for this entire animation begins with our porky friend. Mr. Holiday Pig was originally designed as a concept for our 2022 holiday card. We ultimately went another direction, but he was set aside to be revisited next year. Other references and inspiration were pulled together to help develop the look of things further as I went from simply designing a card to illustrating and animating an entire sequence.
